In recent years, Jersey City Heights has blossomed into a delightful neighborhood. Nestled on a hill, it offers picturesque vistas of Hoboken. Thanks to Hoboken's guidelines on building heights, The Heights enjoys a unique skyline view of New York City and the serene Hudson River. In this article, we'll take a closer look at the beloved local playground in Jersey City Heights.



Riverview-Fisk Park

  • Nearest station: 13 minutes walk from 2nd St Lightrail Station (through 101 stair steps and not stroller-friendly)

  • Right on the edge of The Heights, you'll discover Riverview Fisk Park, situated along the picturesque Palisade Avenue. It offers breathtaking panoramic views that encompass the New York City skyline, the majestic Hudson River, and even the iconic Verrazano Bridge and George Washington Bridge.

  • Riverview Fisk Park is a hub of recreational activities. The park has two basketball courts and a playground that promises hours of joy and adventure.



Washington Park

  • Nearest station: 7 minutes walk from 9th St Lightrail Station (stroller-friendly with elevator)

  • This County Park provides baseball and softball players with four well-lit fields, including two with synthetic turf, as well as a batting cage for Little Leaguers.

  • In addition to these amenities, visitors can engage in other sports on-site, with 10 tennis courts, one full basketball court, three half courts, and a volleyball court available.

  • Families can delight in outdoor fun at Washington Park's playground, and during the summer, there's a spray pool for cooling off. Furthermore, the park offers 3.8 miles of scenic trails for residents in the area to enjoy jogging or biking.





Leonard Gordon Park

Pershing Field Park Children Playground

  • The park features a playground with swings for children, and during the summer, the sprinklers provide refreshing hours of fun. Sports enthusiasts can engage in various activities, including baseball through the Pershing Field Babe Ruth League, along with two basketball courts and four tennis courts.

  • The park offers entertaining fun for the whole family: ice skating rink, a swimming pool, and an outdoor running track spanning approximately 1/3 mile.




Janet Moore Park

  • Nearest station: 12 minutes walk from 2nd St Lightrail Station (through 101 stair steps and not stroller-friendly)

  • Janet Moore Playground is a hidden gem located at the corner of Ogden Avenue and Cuneo Pl. Within the playground, you'll also discover a lovely small garden lovingly tended to by local residents, adding to its community charm.

  • After a delightful visit to the playground, be sure to explore Prato Bakery, conveniently located just around the corner.
